Zenit St Petersburg beat Dinamo Makhachkala 3-0 in the Russian Cup. Aleksandr Sobolev's brace inside the first 38 minutes put Zenit in control before Aleksandr Erokhin added a late third.
Sobolev opened the scoring in the 11th minute after Sergey Volkov's assist, then doubled the lead in the 38th minute from Aleksandr Erokhin's delivery. Erokhin got on the scoresheet himself in the 86th minute, finishing after Gustavo Mantuan's assist.
Sobolev's two goals were the decisive contribution to the win. Gamid Agalarov and Felipe Augusto were both shown yellow cards, in the 45th and 59th minutes respectively, but Dinamo never managed to find a goal in reply.
