Yunchaokete B. came from a set down to defeat Smith C. 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 at the ATP Challenger Lincoln. The victory was built on timely breaks in the final two sets after a first-set tiebreak loss.
Smith won the opening set in a tiebreak after four breaks of serve – two each. Yunchaokete broke Smith in the eighth game of the second set to take a 5-3 lead and served it out to level. In the decider, he broke in the very first game to 1-0 and held that advantage, conceding no break points the rest of the way.
Yunchaokete struck only one ace to Smith’s four, but he won 72% of second-serve return points (8/11) across the match, forcing the critical errors.
