The first set was a rout: Svajda broke at 2-0, 4-0 and 6-0, winning all six games and losing just eight points on serve. Ymer raised his level in the second set, breaking for a 2-1 lead, but Svajda broke back immediately for 3-3. The set went to a tiebreak, where Svajda closed out the match.
Svajda's first-set performance on second-serve return was decisive: he won 12 of 13 points (92%) and converted all three break chances. Overall, he won 57% of second-serve return points and 61% of his own second-serve points, while Ymer managed only 42% on second-serve points.
