Wuhan Three Towns edged out Chongqing Tonglianglong 1-0 in the CFA Super League, taking the points despite seeing far less of the ball. They had just 38% possession but made the most of their opportunities, with a single first-half goal proving decisive.
The only goal came on 40 minutes, when Gustavo Sauer finished from Xu Haofeng's assist to make it 1-0. Chongqing had more of the play but couldn't find a way through, and the match also saw a yellow card for Wuhan's Zhixiong Zhang on 24 minutes.
Chongqing dominated possession with 62% and had 14 shots to Wuhan's 12, yet managed only three on target to Wuhan's four. Both sides missed two big chances apiece, but Wuhan's superior efficiency in front of goal made the difference.
