Weston Workers ran out comfortable 5-2 winners over Kahibah FC thanks to a superb hat-trick from Christopher Hatfield in the first half. The home side were three goals to the good inside 42 minutes and never looked back.
Hatfield opened the scoring after five minutes, doubled the lead with a second on 24 minutes and completed his hat-trick three minutes before the break. Luke McCormick made it 4-0 four minutes into the second half before Kahibah pulled one back on 52 minutes. Brock Beveridge restored the four-goal cushion on 63, and though Kahibah scored again on 68, the result was long settled.
Weston dominated the stats, registering seven shots on target to Kahibah's three and winning seven corners to one. Hatfield's treble was the standout individual performance, but the visitors' 13 fouls reflected a difficult afternoon against a dominant home side.
