West Bromwich Albion beat Watford 1-0 in the Championship, with Jimmy Morgan scoring the only goal. Morgan struck in the 36th minute after Harry Whitwell created the chance. Watford were unable to find an equaliser.
Morgan had been booked in the 34th minute, two minutes before his goal. Martín Payero and Ousmane Diakité were also cautioned before half-time. Five more players were booked in the second half: Edo Kayembe, Nathaniel Phillips, Harry Whitwell, Isaac Price and Iker Bravo.
The numbers show a tight match, with Watford edging total shots 10-9 and big chances 3-2. Watford missed all three big chances while West Brom converted one of their two. Possession was close at 52-48 to West Brom, who had four shots on target to Watford's two.
