Waterford FC beat Bohemian 3-1 in the Premier Division, a result built on a sharp first-half burst. They had only 31% possession yet still managed more shots than their opponents, 16 to 14, and led 3-0 by half-time.
Tom Lonergan opened the scoring in the 21st minute from Benny Couto's assist. Pádraig Amond doubled the lead in the 38th minute and then added his second just before the break, again set up by Benny Couto. Dayle Rooney pulled one back for Bohemian in the 71st minute, but no further goals followed.
Amond's brace was the difference, with the striker scoring twice inside seven first-half minutes. Bohemian dominated the ball with 69% possession and 428 accurate passes to Waterford's 139, yet Waterford created the clearer chances and took them, while goalkeeper saves kept the lead intact at four to three.
