In the first set, Badosa fell behind an early break at 3-2 but broke back immediately at 4-4, then broke again at 5-7 to take the set. The second set followed a similar pattern: Badosa broke for 1-3, Waltert broke back for 2-3, before Badosa broke decisively at 5-7.
Badosa saved two of the four break points she faced, while Waltert could not save any of the three break points against her. Badosa also won 77% of first-serve points and 32% of first-serve return points, outperforming Waltert in both categories.
