Wallin defeated Ujvary 7-5, 6-2 at the Tulln Challenger, turning the match on a five-game run that carried him through the opening set. Wallin converted five break points, saved six of the eight break points he faced, and outpointed Ujvary 72 to 56.
Ujvary broke first in the opener for 4-2, but Wallin won the last five games, with breaks in the ninth and eleventh games, to take it 7-5. At the start of the second set, Wallin broke in game one; Ujvary levelled at 1-1, but Wallin added breaks in game five and game seven to close out 6-2.
Wallin made fewer first serves, 46% to Ujvary’s 60%, yet won 70% of points behind that delivery against Ujvary’s 53%. He also hit three aces to Ujvary’s one and limited his double faults to two against Ujvary’s eight.
