Vitesse beat TOP Oss 2-1 in the Eerste Divisie, taking the points thanks to a late goal from Justin Mathieu. The home side controlled much of the contest but were made to work for the win after Kyanno Lubrano pulled TOP Oss level midway through the second half.
Naoufal Bannis opened the scoring in the 50th minute with an assist from Nino Zonneveld. Lubrano equalised for TOP Oss in the 62nd minute, assisted by Ilounga Pata. Mathieu's 79th-minute strike, with no assist, proved decisive.
The underlying numbers underscored Vitesse's dominance. They had 19 total shots to TOP Oss's 6, 57% possession, and four big chances to none. Yet the margin was a single goal, with both sides registering two shots on target and one goalkeeper save each.
