Otto Virtanen defeated Romano F. in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4, at the San Marino Men Singles. The Finn won by converting all three break points he created, while saving two of three break points faced.
The first set saw four breaks of serve. Romano broke first at 4-2, but Virtanen broke back immediately at 5-4, then broke again at 5-6 to take the set. The second set began with Virtanen breaking in the opening game, and he held serve from there, saving the only break point he faced.
Virtanen was clinical on serve, winning 83% of points behind his first delivery (24/29). He also won 30% of return points on Romano's first serve, enough to secure the win in straight sets.
