Vidmanova dominated the first set, breaking at 0-2, 1-3 and 1-5. Liutova hit back in the second, breaking at 3-1 and 5-1. The decider swung on early breaks: Liutova led 1-0 and 3-0, Vidmanova fought back at 4-2 and 5-3, and Liutova sealed the match with a break at 6-3.
Although Vidmanova hit all three aces, Liutova won the service battle overall, taking 39 service points to 31 and winning 12 of 19 points on her second serve (63%) to Vidmanova's 9 of 26 (35%). Liutova converted 7 of 10 break points, while Vidmanova converted 5 of 10 and saved only 3 of 10.
