Riga FC overturned a two-goal deficit to beat Vardar Skopje 5-2 after extra time in the Europa Conference League qualifier. The home side looked dead and buried when they trailed 0-2 with just three minutes of normal time remaining, but a remarkable late surge forced extra time, where they ran away with the game.
Vardar took a first-half lead through David Babunski in the 17th minute, and Azer Omeragikj doubled their advantage in the 66th minute. Despite having Filip Najdovski sent off in the 19th minute, Vardar held their lead until the 87th minute, when Abdulrahman Taiwo pulled one back. Raki Aouani then equalised deep into stoppage time, making it 2-2 and taking the tie to extra time.
Riga dominated the additional 30 minutes. Iago Siqueira Augusto put them ahead in the 105th minute, Reginaldo Ramires added a fourth in the 109th minute, and Caio Ferreira completed the scoring in the 117th minute. Riga scored five unanswered goals after the 87th minute to seal a stunning comeback.
