The second set swung repeatedly: Van De Zandschulp broke at 4-3, de Minaur hit back immediately at 4-4, and Van De Zandschulp settled it with a break in the 11th game to lead 6-5 before closing out. In the third set, Van De Zandschulp broke in the third game for 2-1 and again at 5-2 to finish the match.
The match was decided by Van De Zandschulp’s first-serve command and return pressure. He fired seven aces to two, won 31 of 41 first-serve points (76%), and collected 28 return points to de Minaur’s 21. De Minaur saved four of seven break points, but Van De Zandschulp was clinical when it mattered.
