Deportivo La Coruña beat Valencia 3-1 in LaLiga, taking control with two goals in the opening 17 minutes. Valencia pulled one back before half-time, but Deportivo’s third goal shortly after the hour settled it.
César Tárrega scored the opener in the 13th minute, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made it 2-0 in the 17th, with Mario Soriano credited with the assist. Umar Sadiq reduced the deficit for Valencia in the 26th minute, before Mouctar Diakhaby scored Deportivo’s third in the 59th. Valencia’s Adrià Altimira was sent off in the 90th minute after two bookings.
Deportivo had only 45% possession and the same number of shots as Valencia (11 apiece), but they were more clinical, hitting four shots on target to Valencia’s three. They also edged the expected-goals battle 1.42 to 1.22 and created two big chances to Valencia’s one.
