Gamba Osaka beat Urawa Red Diamonds 4-3 in a seven-goal J.League thriller. Gamba fell behind early, led at half-time, and then had to come from behind again after Urawa struck twice in quick succession. Matheus Sávio was sent off in the 22nd minute, but the game still swung from end to end.
Hiiro Komori gave Urawa the lead on 17 minutes. Issam Jebali equalised in the 36th and Deniz Hümmet put Gamba ahead on 45, before Takuro Kaneko levelled on 78 and Harumi Minamino made it 2-3 two minutes later. Welton pulled Gamba level on 84 and Asahi Uenaka completed the turnaround in the 86th.
Gamba controlled the ball with 61% possession, but Urawa had more shots, 19 to 12. Gamba still put nine attempts on target, Urawa's goalkeeper made five saves, and the two late goals proved decisive.
