Universidad de Concepción beat Universidad de Chile 2-1 in Primera Division, decided by an early burst that gave them a two-goal lead. They were outplayed for much of the match, but the goals that mattered arrived in the first 17 minutes.
Jeison Fuentealba opened the scoring after four minutes, and Cecilio Waterman doubled the lead on 17 from Rogelio Funes Mori's assist. Universidad de Chile had plenty of possession and shooting chances, but only found the net in the 90th minute through Matías Zaldivia.
The visitors' dominance showed in the numbers: 74% possession, 18 shots and 15 corners, yet they managed just one goal. Universidad de Concepción had only 26% possession and six shots, but were clinical, helped by four saves from their goalkeeper. Jorge Broun was sent off in the 90th minute after a second booking.
