Martina Trevisan rallied from a set down to defeat Eliza Yaneva 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 at the WTA 125K Rome event, capitalising on five break points to Yaneva's three. The Italian converted two breaks in each of the final two sets after dropping the opener, where she saved six of eight break points faced but still lost the set on a late break.
Yaneva broke first in the opening set at 2-0, but Trevisan levelled with a break at 4-3. Yaneva broke again at 6-4 to take the set. Trevisan dominated the second set, breaking at 2-3 and 2-5 to force a decider. In the third, she broke immediately at 0-1, allowed a break back at 2-2, then broke again at 2-3 and 2-5 to seal the win.
Trevisan's first-serve percentage climbed to 83% in the third set, winning 60% of those points, while Yaneva's first-serve success rate fell to 55% in the final set. The Italian won 44% of her return points overall (24/54) and saved 66% of break points, turning the match after a shaky start.
