Martina Trevisan cruised past Tara Grant 6-0, 6-3 at the WTA 125K Rome, dominating with an aggressive return game and a rock-solid first serve. The Italian converted five of nine break points and never faced a break point in the opening set, racing through it in 25 minutes.
Trevisan broke Grant three times in the first set, at 2-0, 4-0 and 6-0, winning 12 of 16 first-serve points and 75% of her returns. The second set was tighter: Grant broke for a 2-1 lead, but Trevisan broke back immediately at 2-2 and then sealed the match with a third break at 5-3.
Trevisan finished with 77% first serves in play (34/44) and won 79% of those points. She also saved one of two break points faced, while Grant saved only four of nine. Trevisan outpointed Grant 58-36 overall, a reflection of her relentless pressure from the baseline.
