Daniel Vallejo defeated Stefano Travaglia 7-6, 6-2 at the Bastad tournament, sealing the win with a dominant second-set performance. Vallejo saved five of seven break points overall (71%) and converted three of his own five chances, while Travaglia managed just two breaks from five opportunities.
The first set was tight: Vallejo broke for 5-3 but Travaglia immediately broke back for 5-4, forcing a tiebreak which Vallejo claimed. In the second set, Vallejo broke twice more — at 1-0, 3-2, and 5-2 — while Travaglia could only reply once (1-1). Vallejo's first-serve return points jumped to 63% in the second set, overwhelming Travaglia's serve.
Despite Travaglia firing eight aces to Vallejo's one, he won only 62% of first-serve points overall. Vallejo's second-set service games were near-flawless, dropping just one point across his three service games (15 of 16 service points won).
