FC Volendam cruised to a 3-0 victory over TOP Oss in the Eerste Divisie. Alex Plat scored twice in the closing stages to put the result beyond doubt, after Nordin Bukala had broken the deadlock before half-time.
Bukala opened the scoring in the 21st minute. Plat doubled the lead in the 72nd minute, assisted by Henk Veerman, before adding a third nine minutes later, assisted by Nick Doodeman. The game also featured yellow cards for Jafar Bynoe (20'), Richard van der Venne (26') and Bukala (68').
The underlying numbers underlined Volendam's control, with 62% possession, 439 accurate passes and five big chances to TOP Oss's one. Despite matching the hosts for shots on target (3-3), TOP Oss could not find a way past the Volendam goalkeeper, who made three saves. Plat's double was the standout performance.
