Tala'ea El-Gaish beat Petrojet 3-2 in the Premier League, racing into a three-goal lead before surviving a late home fightback. The visitors were the more effective side in front of goal, scoring from three of their five shots on target.
Karim Tarek opened the scoring in the 19th minute, Islam Mohareb doubled the lead in the 43rd, and Mohamed Atef made it 3-0 in the 48th. Godwin Okwara pulled a goal back for Petrojet in the 65th and Mostafa El-Badry set up a tense finish in the 81st. Omar Radwan was sent off in the 69th minute, but Petrojet could not force an equaliser.
Petrojet dominated the underlying numbers – 54% possession, 15 shots to eight, 14 corners to none, and 0.84 expected goals against 0.28 – yet Tala'ea El-Gaish were far more clinical. Mohamed Atef assisted the first two goals and scored the third, a decisive contribution to the visitors' win.
