Andrey Rublev edged past Alejandro Tabilo 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 to reach the next round in Bastad. The Russian clinched the decisive break in the third set at 4-3, after a roller-coaster second set where three breaks of serve occurred.
Rublev broke early in the first set, leading 2-1, and held his serve comfortably, winning 100% of first-serve points (17/17) in the set. Tabilo responded in the second, breaking twice — first at 2-4 to level at 4-2, then again at 4-6 after Rublev had briefly broken back at 4-5. The decider was tight until Rublev converted his only break chance at 4-3, then served out the match.
Rublev’s second-serve return was a key weapon: he won 19 of 30 return points on Tabilo’s second serve (63%) across the match. He also saved his only break point in the final set, while Tabilo saved 10 of 13 break points faced overall.
