Moeller edged Taberner 7-6, 7-5 at the ATP Challenger in Hagen after a tight first-set tiebreak and a late decisive break in the second. The opening set featured four breaks of serve before Moeller took it on a tiebreak.
Taberner broke in game 3 of the first set, but Moeller levelled immediately; Taberner then broke again at 5-6, only for Moeller to break straight back at 6-6 and seal the tiebreak. In the second, Moeller broke for 2-1, Taberner replied at 2-2, and the match stayed level until Moeller's break at 6-5 set up the win.
Moeller's first serve was key – he landed 69% compared to Taberner's 54% – and he won 38 return points to 26. Despite both winning eight service games, it was Moeller who converted the decisive late break.
