Michelsen’s serve was the decisive factor: he saved all four break points he faced across the match and won 83% of his first-serve points, while converting two of his four break chances in the opening and closing sets.
Michelsen seized control immediately in the first set, breaking Suresh in the opening game and again at 4-1, riding that advantage to a 6-2 win. The second set saw no breaks of serve; Suresh edged the tie-break to level the match. Michelsen responded by breaking decisively in the third set at 4-2, then again to close it out at 6-2.
What stood out was Michelsen’s clutch serving under pressure: he saved all four break points he faced, while Suresh saved only two of four. Despite Suresh hitting 10 aces to Michelsen’s six, Michelsen’s superior first-serve points won (83% to 73%) and his ability to create breaks at key moments proved the difference.
