Luton Town beat Stockport County 2-0 in League One, with both goals arriving after half-time. The home side were second best for long spells, yet took their chances when they mattered.
Nahki Wells broke the deadlock on 50 minutes, and Callum Marshall doubled the lead on 76, Jamie Donley supplying the assist. Daniel Gore and Oliver Norwood were booked as Stockport pushed forward but could not find a way back.
Stockport controlled possession at 62% and had 11 shots to Luton's seven, but Luton put five on target to Stockport's two and created three big chances to none. The visitors' 0.84 expected goals told of a side who huffed and puffed without the clinical edge.
