El Kachati completed his brace in the 53rd minute, and Sambou Soumano added a fourth with 78 minutes on the clock. Red Star's early promise faded after that flurry, and the match was punctuated by six bookings, including first-half yellows for Daouda Guindo and Chamsedin Kouranfal.
Despite having 56% possession and 12 total shots to Reims' 10, Red Star could not match the visitors' efficiency. Reims registered eight shots on target, created five big chances, and scored three of them, while Red Star managed just one big chance all match.
