Stade Brestois came away from Le Havre with a 2-1 Ligue 1 win, built on a fine double from Kamory Doumbia. Le Havre scored late through Rayan Fofana but never found an equaliser.
Doumbia put Brest ahead in the 12th minute and struck again on 51, Mama Baldé supplying the assist, after Junior Mwanga had been shown a red card on 45. Rayan Fofana gave Le Havre hope on 79 minutes, but that was the final scoring act.
Brest were the more threatening side despite having less possession, taking 19 shots to Le Havre's 16, with nine on target to four and an expected-goals lead of 2.40 to 1.58. Le Havre's goalkeeper made seven saves while his side had 55% of the ball, but their four attempts on target were not enough to turn the game around.
