Sligo Rovers and Drogheda United shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw after a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser from the visitors. Cian Kavanagh's quickfire double had turned the game on its head, but Drogheda snatched a point in the 90th minute, moments before Archie Meekison was sent off.
Drogheda struck first when Thomas Oluwa finished from Conor Kane's pass in the 11th minute. Sligo responded with two goals in four minutes: Cian Kavanagh levelled from Archie Meekison's assist in the 24th, then put his side ahead from Luke Pearce's delivery in the 28th. The game seemed heading Sligo's way until a stoppage-time Drogheda goal levelled the score at 2-2.
Cian Kavanagh's brace was the standout individual performance, but Sligo will rue not holding on despite dominating possession (58%) and creating more big chances (3-1). The visitors had more total shots (14-11) and took advantage of a late lapse, while Meekison's red card added to Sligo's frustration.
