Slavutich Smolensk came from behind to beat Shakhter Soligorsk 3-2 in overtime, deciding the Salei Cup match with a 1-0 extra period after a 2-2 regulation finish. The home side erased a one-goal deficit with a two-goal third period.
Shakhter opened the scoring in the first period and carried a 1-0 lead into the second, which ended scoreless. In the third, Slavutich scored twice while allowing one, pulling even at 2-2 and forcing overtime. Slavutich then netted the lone goal of the extra session to wrap it up.
The decisive number was the late surge: after falling behind early, Slavutich scored three of the final four goals in the game. The third-period turnaround set up the overtime winner and flipped what had been a tightly-checked, low-event contest.
