Hearts and Benfica shared a 1-1 draw in the Europa League third qualifying round. Hearts took the lead through Tomas Magnusson in the 77th minute, but Benfica hit back just two minutes later through Dodi Lukebakio.
Magnusson's goal put Hearts ahead, and the lead lasted barely two minutes before Lukebakio equalised for Benfica, helped by José Neto's assist. The only card of the match was a 34th-minute yellow for Cláudio Braga.
Benfica dominated the statistics, with 61% possession, 11 corners to Hearts' none and 5 shots on target to 3. Yet Hearts were outplayed for large spells and were still only denied victory by a quick response.
