The game was goalless until Thiago Andrade struck in the 62nd minute. Shimizu had four big chances before that but missed all of them, while Cerezo scored from their only big chance of the match. Cerezo were the more efficient side, taking their one clear opportunity while Shimizu wasted four big chances and failed to find the net despite creating more. The visitors had more shots on target than their output suggests, but goalkeeper saves and poor finishing left them empty-handed.
