Petr Zahraj beat Jack Sheehy 7-5, 6-3 in Rennes, holding all nine of his service games and never facing a break point after the opening set. He converted two break chances, Sheehy none.
The first set stayed on serve until the 12th game, where Zahraj broke to take it 7-5 after saving the only break point he faced all match. In the second, he broke again in game four for 3-1 and closed it out without further alarm, winning three games in a row at his best stretch.
The gap came on second serve: Zahraj won 9 of 10 points behind his, while Sheehy managed just 9 of 24, and in the second set Sheehy took none of his eight second-serve points. Zahraj also landed 80% of first serves to Sheehy's 65%.
