Shanghai Port secured a 2-0 win over Shanghai Shenhua in the CFA Super League, thanks to first-half goals from Leonardo and Li Xinxiang. The home side took control early, with Leonardo opening the scoring in the 28th minute and Li Xinxiang doubling the lead just eight minutes later.
Leonardo struck first, converting an assist from Prince Ampem. Li Xinxiang then made it 2-0, finishing a pass from Óscar Melendo. Despite a flurry of second-half pressure from Shenhua, including a Kodjo Aziangbe yellow card in the 18th minute and late bookings for Zhenao Wang and Zexiang Yang, Shanghai Port held firm.
Shanghai Shenhua dominated the shot count (17 to 12) and had six shots on target to Shanghai Port's three, but they failed to convert any of their two big chances. The visitors also won nine corners and committed 16 fouls, yet Shanghai Port's goalkeeper made six saves to preserve the clean sheet.
