Katrina Scott beat Anastasia Panova 6-2, 6-4 in Guadalajara, never facing a single break point across five service games. Scott held everything she served, while Panova was broken three times and saved only 2 of 4 break points.
Scott struck immediately, breaking in the opening game at 0-1, then broke again in the seventh game at 2-5 to close out the first set behind an 86% first-serve rate. The decisive moment of the second set came in its fifth game, when Scott broke at 2-3 and from there served out the match.
The cleanest number was Scott's return work on second serves: 8 of 11 points won, against Panova winning just 3 of 11 points behind her own second serve. Scott also made 26 of 30 first serves (87%) for the match and hit only two double faults to Panova's four.
