São Bernardo drew level on 59 minutes when Pedrinho finished a move involving Pará, but Goiás regained the lead just eight minutes later through Kadu to make it 2-1. Wellington Rato was booked in the 84th minute.
São Bernardo controlled much of the ball with 59% possession and completed 426 accurate passes to Goiás' 293, yet the sides had four shots on target each and near-identical expected goals figures of 1.10 and 1.11. Goiás had more total shots, with 14 to São Bernardo's 11, and took their chances when it mattered to claim the win.
