Shuto Nakano opened the scoring after just three minutes to put Hiroshima ahead. The game remained 1-0 until the 79th minute, when Akito Suzuki doubled the lead from Taishi Matsumoto's assist, and Takumu Kawamura added a third in the 88th minute to seal the victory.
The standout stat was Hiroshima's 23 total shots, eight of which were on target, compared to just seven total shots for Chiba. Hiroshima also edged possession at 54%, and while Chiba committed 14 fouls to Hiroshima's five, they could not stop the home side's momentum.
