San Lorenzo snatched a 1-0 win over Gimnasia y Esgrima Mendoza with a late goal from Rodrigo Auzmendi, taking the points despite being second-best for large spells. The visitors created more chances but could not find a way past the home defence.
The only goal came in the 86th minute, when Gregorio Rodríguez fed Auzmendi, who finished calmly to break the deadlock. The match had been tight and largely uneventful, with four yellow cards shown: Matías Recalde (52'), Julián Dario Ceballos (69'), Luciano Cingolani (75') and Lencioni (84').
The box score shows Gimnasia had the better of the expected goals (0.83 to 0.40) and total shots (11 to 8), but San Lorenzo were more clinical, putting three shots on target to the visitors' two. It was a case of taking one chance when it mattered most.
