San Jose Earthquakes II beat Los Angeles FC 2 3-2 in MLS Next Pro after racing into a three-goal lead. They were 3-0 up by the 68th minute and held on despite a late LAFC 2 rally.
Kaedren Spivey opened the scoring in the 18th minute and Zachary Bohane doubled the lead in the 24th, with Shane De Flores assisting. Bohane then set up Tomo Allen for a third on 68 minutes. Lisandro Torres pulled one back for LAFC 2 on 79 and Adrian Sanders made it 3-2 in the 86th, but San Jose saw it out.
The hosts were clinical despite having 41% possession to LAFC 2's 59%. They had 16 shots to 11, six on target to four, and an expected-goals total of 1.89 to 0.57. Bohane ended the evening with a goal and an assist.
