HC Kaluga went into Tyumen and left with a 3-0 win in regulation, built on a clean sheet and a two-goal third period. Rubin never led, never tied after the opening intermission, and never solved Kaluga's goaltender.
The first period was scoreless, a low-event 20 minutes that suited the visitors fine. Kaluga broke through at 21 minutes to make it 0-1, then turned the game at 42 minutes, when two goals landed to push it to 0-2 and 0-3 and effectively close the file.
The number that matters is zero: Rubin Tyumen didn't score in 60 minutes, and Kaluga's shutout is the story as much as the three goals. Two of those three came in the same minute of the third — a swing Rubin had no answer for.
