Saarbrücken came from two goals down to beat Rot-Weiss Essen 5-2 in the 3. Liga. Essen led 2-0 after first-half goals from Ben Huning and Semir Telalović, but Saarbrücken answered with five goals and turned the match around.
Ben Huning opened the scoring in the 10th minute and Semir Telalović doubled the lead on the half-hour. Mladen Cvjetinović pulled one back in the 33rd minute and Christian Kühlwetter equalised on the stroke of half-time. Kai Brünker put Saarbrücken ahead in the 74th minute, with Siemen Voet and Kelsey Owusu Aninkorah Meisel adding late goals in the 89th and 90th minutes.
Florian Pick was at the heart of the comeback, assisting the equaliser, the third goal and the fourth. Saarbrücken scored three times in the final 16 minutes to give the scoreline a decisive look.
