Roma ran out convincing 0-4 winners at Lecce, with the damage done inside the opening 25 minutes. Donyell Malen scored twice and Matías Soulé added a third to put the match beyond the hosts. Roma controlled the game from start to finish.
Malen opened the scoring after four minutes and made it 0-2 in the 23rd, with Wesley providing the assist for the second. Two minutes later Soulé struck to make it 0-3, and Rodrigo Mora added the fourth on 65 minutes from a Gianluca Mancini assist. The early goals took the sting out of the contest.
Roma's superiority showed in the numbers: they had 65% possession and 15 shots to Lecce's seven, with an expected goals figure of 3.25. Malen's brace set the tone, and although he was booked on nine minutes, it did not slow him down. Lecce managed just three shots on target and rarely threatened.
