HC Škoda Plzeň defeated Rögle BK 4-0 in regulation, turning a scoreless game with two goals a minute apart in the second period. The home side added two more in the third to secure the shutout.
Rögle's forecheck kept the first period even, but Plzeň broke through at 34:00 when Ales Cech scored unassisted. Danny Katic made it 2-0 at 35:00 with help from Dylan MacPherson, and third-period goals by Filip Matyas (43:00) and Igor Merezhko (50:00), assisted by Mikko Petman and Michal Teply, sealed the win.
The decisive number was the scoring spread: each of Plzeň's four goals came from a different skater. Plzeň never trailed, while Rögle was held off the board in all three periods.
