Julia Riera beat Denisa Salkova 6-1, 6-3 in the singles at the WTA 125K in Barranquilla, and she never faced a single break point along the way. Riera converted four of her chances on return, won all six of her service games and took 25 receiver points to Salkova's eight.
The first set was effectively over early: Riera broke in the opening game at 0-1, again in game five at 1-4 and once more in game seven to close it out at 1-6, helped by four Salkova double faults. In the second set a single break in game two, at 0-2, was enough, and Salkova's three break points saved from seven attempts across the match never turned into a break of her own.
The standout number belongs to Riera's serve: 78% of first-serve points won (14/18) and 13 of 14 second serves in play, despite landing only 56% of first serves compared with Salkova's 71%. She also won seven games in a row at her best stretch, against a maximum of one for her opponent.
