Cuello finished from Igor Gomes's assist to break the deadlock late on. Juninho Capixaba's yellow card in the 52nd minute was the only real flashpoint before the goal arrived.
The numbers favoured the home side everywhere except the scoreline. Bragantino had 20 shots to Mineiro's 10, 56 per cent possession and 1.50 expected goals, yet missed their only big chance. Mineiro's goalkeeper made seven saves, and they converted their own single big chance.
