Portland Timbers came from behind to beat ten-man Real Salt Lake 2-1. The visitors took an early lead but Morgan Guilavogui's red card before half-time turned the game, and Felipe Mora's second-half double sealed the points.
Juan Manuel Sanabria put Real Salt Lake ahead in the 18th minute, but the match shifted when Guilavogui was sent off in the 34th minute. Felipe Mora equalised in the 56th minute from Ariel Lassiter's assist, then added the winner 11 minutes later, helped by Kristoffer Velde.
Portland dominated the stats — 61% possession, 22 shots to six, and 2.59 expected goals to 0.15 — but needed the red card to break down a stubborn Salt Lake side. Mora's brace was the difference, while Real Salt Lake's only shot on target after the sending-off was their early opener.
