Portland Timbers II came from behind to beat Minnesota United FC 2 2-1 in MLS Next Pro. Luke Hille’s opener put Minnesota ahead in the 43rd minute, but Eric Izoita equalised before half-time and then scored again in the second half to seal the win.
Eric Izoita made it 1-1 in the 45th minute after Hille had given the hosts the lead. He completed the comeback in the 65th minute to put Portland 2-1 up, and Minnesota could not find an equaliser.
Minnesota had more of the ball and more attempts overall, with 61% possession and 14 shots to Portland’s 11, yet Portland were more clinical, registering six shots on target to two. Izoita’s brace was the difference between the sides.
