Pogoń Szczecin beat Motor Lublin 3-1 in the Ekstraklasa, taking the points on the back of a strong first half and a clinical finishing display. Motor had more of the ball and a similar number of shots, but Pogoń turned their chances into goals while their opponents did not.
Darko Churlinov opened the scoring in the 17th minute, and Attila Szalai doubled the lead from Linus Wahlqvist's assist two minutes before half-time. Makan Aïko pulled one back for Motor in the 90th minute, but Kellyn Acosta answered immediately, converting Kamil Grosicki's assist to restore the two-goal cushion.
Pogoń were the more efficient side in front of goal, scoring three of their four big chances while Motor failed to score from their only big chance. Motor's 56% possession and 16 shots could not prevent defeat, with Pogoń's 2.22 expected goals underlining the quality of the openings they created.
