Anna Blinkova beat Nadia Podoroska 7-5, 6-1 at the WTA 125K event in Barranquilla, converting four of her break points to Podoroska's one. The Argentine's serve was the difference: seven double faults across the match and only 32% of second-serve points won.
Blinkova broke for 3-1 in the first set, but Podoroska hit straight back in the next game to level at 2-3. The set stayed on serve until the 12th game, when Blinkova broke again to take it 7-5, and she carried that momentum into an early break for 2-0 in the second before a further break for 5-1 settled it.
The cleanest number belonged to Blinkova in the second set: 10 of 10 points won behind her first serve, while Podoroska managed 0 from 10 on return against it. Blinkova also won 37 receiving points to Podoroska's 19 and took 74 points in the match to 55.
