Abdulrasheed Shehu Dabai opened the scoring after five minutes, and Wasiu Falolu doubled the lead in the 38th minute to give Rivers a comfortable half-time cushion. Plateau offered little in response, and the second half drifted with two yellow cards but no further goals.
